Hello! I'm Ayesha and I'm a girlie (*dun dun dunnnn*). I'm 27, from SE London, work for my dad & ..well thats about it :/ I should be ordering my ST soon (end of January). I currently drive a Fiesta Flight (oi stop laughing!) and am hopefully selling it after its paid off. I read something on someone's post about getting a voucher and they got a damn good deal on their ST. Can someone tell me what that is about? I guess I do need some helps and hints on getting this car *flutters eyelashes* Any help is appreciated.

The voucher people refer to is the Ford Privilege voucher, which is basically an employee discount. To be able to get these you or a member of your close family must work for Ford or a company owned by Ford (e.g. Land Rover, Jaguar etc..etc..). That really is the only way I'm afraid.

Several people have pointed out some of the official import firms that list the car at a reduced price but whether this is a carrot to get you in or totally genuine I'm afraid I don't know. I think I'm just gonna sell my current Fiesta (I'll get more in a private sale than part ex), use a large chunk as a deposit and the rest into my bank account so I can actually afford those repayments coming out! *heh* I'm not sure my local dealer is 100% convinced a girl (shock horror) actually wants to buy one I'm waiting for their demo car to turn up so I can take a test drive, then they'll "prop me up" on finance and see if I can get a decent deal.

I'm fed up waiting! It feels like its taken forever for this car to turn up *stomps foot*

It has taken an age, it was expected out well over 12-18 months ago, and given it is using the engine from a Mondeo, brakeing system from the Focus (ST170) there really is no excuse. That aside my friend and his girlfriend have driven some and really rate them so it's worth the wait. All being well I will get to go in one tomorrow.

As for finance, hammer them and hammer them hard - they get such massive commision from selling finance and with the interest rates on hold for so long the private financing option is always going to be better. If I were you I'd aim to finance the car through the dealer then twist their arm for a discount on the car (going to be slim) and some option upgrades, like reflex pack and proper ST mats thrown in.

A month or two later I would get a private loan (find the best here: http://www.moneysupermarket.com/LoansP/PersonalLoansAssessment.asp fill it in, it takes seconds to give you a quick breakdown and comparison) and pay off the finance on the car (here: http://www.ford.co.uk/ie/my_account/-/- ).

That way you get the lowest rate possible and the best package for the price.

Welcome to the Fiesta and forum (well the bit its only for me at the moment as im the only one in the world still hopefull and waiting for it to come out).

Check all over the family for that voucher, im just about to buy one as I found out i qualify because my nan is receiving my grandads pension, he worked for Ford and has not been with us for 19 years!
