To start with all I’m going to say is this has been of the best holidays I’ve had for a long time. If you get the chance to go on an event with this forum you won’t be disappointed.

This isn’t a full write up because I think most people could only take one like Scotty did. Just my views of Saturday Sunday Monday morning and a few little extra bits.

Ok starting with Saturday morning. I met up with Stuart at 8 am in Newbury. We decided to leave early 1-we didn’t know what the traffic would be like 2-there were loads of roadwork’s on the M4. On the way down saw a white st with full stripes coming up behind me. Waved as they went past and got a beep from them. Still don’t know who they were. We arrived at services about 9. Good thing we changed the meeting point. Tiddleywink was very small as we found out later. Then Scotty, Chris and Kevin turned up. Had a little chat and headed off to the event. On the way I got diverted to the moon as it’s now been named. After several phone calls with Stuart managed to meet up with every body and enjoyed the day. Few pics I took of the rally day

This escort always had the back end out

This guy was a nutter but could clearly drive

Scobby rally car nearly run us over

Idea of how wet it got

Rally evo sideways

After the day we headed down to Newquay. Lost Stuart a few times but he always managed to catch up. The look on Kevs face when he did was priceless. “Where did he come from?”
After the trauma of finding the camp site we got the tents up and had the nice welcome from 2 girls.

Sunday
We had a lazy day Sunday. We went for a drive up to Padstow but there was no where to park. We managed to get split up again and I swear I went past the carwash in the lay by 5 times. We then found a nice little bay to have a chat and get something to eat. Later on in the day we headed down to Hollywell bay where Cassie was staying with her 2 kids. We went for a drive up to Perinporth where we chatted some more and got a few more pictures. When we were planning our next move a guy came up to us asking if we were looking for somewhere nice to go. He pointed us to our next call of duty. After a small mistake by my leading the convoy and getting lost we managed to find a nice high car park with good views. Another photo shoot and then we headed down to the beach. This was so we could chill out and catch up, But also for the kids to have some fun.

Arty Photo

Cassie’s car which I got to drive Thank you

Really like this pic of stuarts car

We left with cassie’s kids soaked and went to a pub in Crantock. Only problem was they stopped serving at 9pm and it was 9:01. Kevin Chris and Stuart headed back to our camp site to get some food. Me and Cassie went back to my Dad’s caravan so the kids could dry off and we could get something to eat. We then headed back to our own sites.

Monday
In the morning I went to meet Cassie. After the trouble we had finding our site it was easier to meet her and come back in convoy. This is where I got to drive an st. When driving it didn’t feel to much quicker than mine, until I looked at the Speedo. It was also loaded with holiday stuff as it was meant to be her last day. Good that you stayed for a few more days Cassie. We met back at the camp site with everybody and planned our next move. I remembered a crazy golf that my dad used to take me to. Was surprised at how much people wanted to go when I suggested it. (This is stereotypical but I thought it would be all cars and driving. How wrong was I) after a game of Crazy golf where the kids thrashed us Scotty turned up. We all heard him before we saw him.

This is where Scotts write up takes over

Kevins car

Night time pics

Managed to get the stars with a half working camera

Harbour side pictures

Hope you had a look at the site

Friday
Now there were three. We had a lazy morning. Got some breakfast and headed north. We stopped in Padstow where we got the only negative comment of the week from a parking attendant to move on. We then headed up to Bude and Scotty found us a nice spot to park near to where he used to go on holiday. We stayed here for a few hours and got even more pictures. Then it was time to leave cornwall . We agreed to stop off at a services just before the M4 where I would be leaving. Instead there was a sign for maccy dees and I knew we were going to be stopping early. I think Scotty must have missed the first sign as we were still in the outside lane at the 300yard boards. After a quick maneuver we pulled into the services and got some grub and a drink. We had a quick look at the picture we had taken and then left. We crawled up to the M4 junction and went our separate ways.

Traffic on the way back. Sorry Scotty couldn’t resist

All good things come to an end and we had to go our separate ways

I know this isn’t a patch on what Scotty did but I hope you enjoyed reading it.
Hope to see you at the next event

Thanks to every one who organized the event and went it was a real blast.

i didnt know you would go to perrinporth! went there after out gcses and my mate got stung by a razorfish (i think) and her foot swelled up so much. she had to have boiling water poured on it to draw out the venom. and my other mate got seagull pooed on. other than that we had an ace time there. god that was about 6 years ago!

Yet again some great photos there Micky. That Mk2 Escort at the Rally Day was by far my favourite. It looked the business and was also thrown around by someone who new what they were doing. You definately know your way around a camera!

Well to be honest, a lot of the time we were just deciding on the day where we would go, or even just following roads and seeing if they took us somewhere nice. I've put a load of pics of Perrinporth in my reply on Scotts thread, but unlike on your visit we didn't get to venture all the way down to the beach there.

Thanks for the write up Micky.

I was really gutted that I couldn't convoy down to Newquay with you lot on Saturday evening and then worse still not getting there until the Monday afternoon but it's really nice of you to have wrote up what you did to fill me in on events

I like the way you have caught me in my mirror whilst we were in traffic, thats great lol.

It's all very well organising but if people don't come along then organising is pointless so you and the other guys and girls are the real people that deserve thanking. I'm really glad you enjoyed it and hope to be seeing you in the near future.

I'm only down in Pompey if you ever pop down then make sure you let me know

Great pictures, great car and great person!!! Thx Micky

Yup it was. Thats just reminded me about something when we was taking the pics there. We'd moved up onto the hill to get some overhead shots, when someone pulled up right next us (and ruined the view lol) and got out clearly annoyed that presumably he couldn't get his usual spot parked next to the gate. He then got out his key in a way that we was all thinking he was about to key our cars, but luckily not.

He did look very annoyed that we had parked our cars on a public road that didn't belong to him... he did get his key out in that way but luckily didn't do anything... if he had I would have pushed him off the edge!!! Touching my baby is not a good idea
