Hey All

Just a quick post to say that now that this summers event has been and gone, we're already thinking about next year.

After having three great events over the past year, we're looking to make next years even better. This time we're looking to be even more ambitious, venturing slightly into Europe, and considering having an event in the north of France.

Imagine it. It would be great fun convoying down to the ferry, coming off again, and then a little bit of driving on the continent.

But ultimately the meet is yours the members not ours. And so I want to gauge opinion on this first, as to whether people would be happy with this or whether they would prefer us to organise another meet somewhere else in the UK and a bit closer to home.

We would be grateful if anyone who is seriously interested in attending could put their names down. Obviously the more interest that is shown then the quicker the team can start work on planning things, in order to make it another great event!!

Thanks,
ChrisC

It is clear that you have voted for France Chris.

I have also voted for France also as the site is really pushing forwards now and with the time we had on the last event it's really put alot of energy into the site which we can carry forwards into planning the next time around!!!

I have voted for France also but it's not up to me!!!

Please only vote if you are serious and leave a note after the post to comment on which you voted and why, also your views towards it!!!

That way the Team can keep track of whos interested and also the different views, comments can be discussed.

Thanks for that Chris

Scotty

I have also voted France. My Dad drove through France every year from 1968-1974 with no convoy to follow, and me as a whinger. But i can still remember a lot.Lovely weather, and fun camping!

Yes i've been boring and voted for the UK. I just think that more people will think about going if it is UK based. People who have already met and know they like the events can say that France would be good, however its a long way to go for people who have never met anyone else before. I'm not saying we are an unfirendly bunch (quite the opposite in fact) but I can just see what other people might be thinking.

Ok I voted France too for obvious reasons of proximity to me, but then again you guys will have the drawback to have to pay for the ferry. Maybe it could be combined with another event such as a track day at Spa. Spa is only 200 miles down once you're in mainland europe (Calais). Just a thought...

It would be Nick don't worry about that.

In reply to your post Stu... sometimes 5 miles down the road is too far for some people. At the end of the day it would be well organised and an excellent holiday and time away, where ever we ended up. If people want to come, they will make the journey how ever far... if they don't then they simply won't and just make excuses or not bother even thinking about it. Personal choice as to if you want to come or not... but I know I look forwards to them all year and it's been worth the hard work and waiting!!!

Just another quite note:

I have some exciting things for next years event which will be great. If it was in France we would be able to meet members from Europe as there is quite a few on the site that might be interested in taking a week off work and meeting up with us and getting into the spirit of things!!!

I am biased about going into France as it would be a massive challenge for me and i'd LOVE to drive there. Imagine the convoy and faces onto the Ferry and then off and around france... would be amazing... New landscape, whole new ball game with the different language... would be a really great experience!!!

The site is growing all the time and I keep on gambling with my ideas and it's all paid off and is working really well... so this is what i'm pushing for!!!

NOTE: Once you have voted, PLEASE leave a reply here as it makes things alot easier for me to see whos interested.

I vote for the UK, mainly beacause of bringing a child and I think about medical reasons if anything happened. I would'nt be doing the driving although I can drive and if I did need to take over the driving I would feel safer in the UK. I agree with Stuart it is a long way to go if you have never met before. I think France would be nice but it is probably more for you younger carefree folk.

I voted France, but need dates ASAP as the holiday calender at work gets filled up very quickly in July, Aug & Sept. Cause I work shifts in a team, only allowed one off at a time so the earlier the better to get it booked!!
