I've had my standard ST a few days now and one thing i've noticed is that the ride height seems pretty high up!

In a way I kind of like it, but it's not what I expected as I thought it would be much lower. Anybody had their ST lowered and why? Do you prefer it and are there any noticable changes such as handling?

Definitely drop her!

I originally had extra low eibach springs with standard shocks. Looked a lot better but i was never convinced that handling improved drastically.

Im now on bilstein coilovers and love them. The ride is solid but i enjoy going round corners and being planted happy

Basically u need to choose if you want to do it purely for aesthetics or going for performance. If performance the. Id save a bit and go coilovers thumbs

The 35mm eibach springs definitely give you better stability on corners and are not much harder then the standards.

I think over the half the people on the forum have the 35mm eibach springs and I've not heard a bad work yet.

Definatly more than half. Think theres only a few people with standard. I hate the high up feel, I think its partly down to the seats.

i had eibach springs before i changed to coilovers, the eibachs are perfect on the ST gives it a great look and feel thumbs

i upgraded to Gaz GHA coilovers a couple of years ago as i started getting on track a lot more, and with the adjustable damping they are great, on the road they are as soft as standard if you want them to be and then on track i can harder them right up, also when i drive on the road my car runs 25mm lower than when on track.

coilovers start about £500, mine fer £650 and the springs are easier and are about £150

Sounds like there's a few options available. Just gotta weigh up I guess. It does feel weirdly high up, so I lowered the seat and wheel so I feel a bit lower down. Can just about see over the wheel wink

Think the standard ST feels more like a "boat" compared to a lowered one, hen you push it on the road. Feels more stable when it's lowered I reckon.

I bought the bilstein B12 kit with Eibach springs. Very happy with it, even now in the winter with all the snow. No problems at all.

35mm extra low hibachis

Pro: much lower, less roll round roundabouts and corners,

Cons: A bit crashy over bumps and potholes

I had Eibachs on my ZS, was so much better lowered
Coilovers now on the Leon, bought it like that so don't really know what it drove like standard, but found a standard one in the UK. Can't really see a huge difference in the pic, but it was pretty big gap.

I've got the Eibach standard 35mm springs (not a lot of difference between extra low and normal to be honest - 5mm on the back if that).

I have driven the ST on the same track on both standard suspension and eibachs and the eibachs handle so so much better. Ride is pretty much the same as it was on standard too.

Mine is on the eibachs as well. All i noticed was it looked better, you sit a little lower but it sounds like you have split an alloy apart when you hit a pot hole
