I'm ready to get some Eibach's fitted but I'd like to do it myself. Has anyone done this? How big / difficult / time consuming a job is it?! I've seen the 'how to' on it, but I feel like things often look for more simple than they actually are.

it is pretty easy, the how too was mine if you read it on here, the most difficult part of the whole change is having compressing the springs on the front.

just take your time, if your handy with a set of spanners it really isnt that hard aslong as it comes apart.

i have lowered 10 fiesta ST's now, most of them are on this site happy

Yeah, compressing the springs was one of my concerns. How do you go about doing that?

This is my main concern. I will probably be using an electric impact socket to do mine... which might make things easier, but it would be a pain if rusted-on bolts start shearing off.

I've read something about marking up the position of the strut in the pinch bolts prior to removing the strut so that you can reinstall it in the same place, although a few of the tutorials I've read don't mention this step. Is it important? And how do you even know if strut was in the right place before you started?

Sounds delightful! A mate of mine has a spring compressor, so I'm gonna give it a go on Wednesday. There's a garage round the corner in case it all goes wrong.

be carefull when you compress the springs, i have seen one fly straight true the passenger and driver doors on a Peugeot 307 and getting stuck in the wall, there are alot of forces at stake when compressing a spring happy

I would also change the upper strut mount, now that the springs and shocks are away happy

They're not the extra lows. Some sites say -35mm F and -30mm R, some say -35mm all round. All I know is, they're lower than standard!
