Re-openeing an old thread, im in the process of making up my own PAS cooler, ive got a cooler of a puma and just ordered all the hosing and clips etc. How well does the mountune cooler work? as mine will essentially be the same as that. I don't track the car, but i want to be able to have spirited drives without the fear of ruining the PAS fluid and needing the change it.

Awesome, I'm thinking of creating a How to make your own PAS cooler thread, as i haven't found anything about people making their own, although i know a few people have. As I've paid about £40 for a cooler, hoses and fittings, which is pretty good compared to the £100 for a Mountune one, obviously theirs is more OEM.

i have the mountune one... in my garage as i was still boiling the fluid with it, but that was on trackdays. the pipework you need is 8 or 10mm ID oil pipework, fuel pipe will break down and you will end up with black particles in the fluid, will probably cost you about 30 quid, (3 meters of pipewort for my oil cooler cost £50 but thats bigger bore) then you'll need the connectors and jubilee clips, the mountune one is pretty well prices tbh. (mine is for sale for £50, in yellow, everything still with it) i now have a 13 row oil cooler to cool the pas fluid and it hasn't even been warm after a session on track let alone boil

I've got some hosing thats apparently suitable for oil and fuels, but isnt specific ATF hosing, i assumed that because it can be used for oil it will be ok for ATF. After doing some reading seems like im wrong, and i need special hose for ATF. Problem is, i cant find anything anywhere on what hose is right and where i can buy it. Whe did you get your hose from?
