I presumed they asked when your insurance ran out, and they didn't want to waste their time as it will change by the time you actually get round to insuring it

Yeah they have text me today to say that most insurers only offer a 21 day validity on their quotes so they will contact me nearer the time (my current policy expires 28th April)

Could always put a false date in just to get a ballpark figure and then go for a proper quote nearer the time?

I did on the website then when they called me they asked when my renewal was due

Just to update this my quote from Adrian flux at first was £1400 then they mucked up my ncb sorted that out and went down to £1100 then went on greenlight and they said £420 so phoned up need to insure same company that I had my RS with and they go it down to £370

nice little saving from 1400 to 370

Just renewed with sky insurance and they got my yearly payment down from £494 with greenlight to £440 for the year. The lowest Greenlight could go was £469. That was with another years no claims and they do like for like on mods too

Yeah i tried flux and they got it down to £467. The closest Greenlight could get to that was £469. I got a 20% discount for sky through mtoc. Just need to phone Greenlight now and ask for them to send me proof of my no claims

Renewal from Chris Knott was £420, phone call for it down to £340 as I had a comparison site quote of £307 by adding 1000 miles of business use and a £350 excess. Called Adrian Flux but the best they could get to was £350 and that was them waive ring their fees so another year with Chris Knott and Highways for me on the Mondeo
