I'm having trouble making a decision about what I should do to remedy my buckled wheels, so I thought I'd open it up to the forum to see if anyone has any ideas.
The challenge I'm facing is that all of my wheels (standard alloys) are buckled. God only knows how it happened, I haven't driven over anything major so I can only assume that it was the previous owner. Either way, the last MOT highlighted them as an advisory and my rear drivers side tyre loses pressure as a result of the flat spot.
So, possible outcomes that I've considered so far:
- buy another set of wheels on eBay (set of Focus ST170 alloys on there for reasonable money atm)
- buy a brand new set of alloys (Team Dynamics ~£400)
- get all of the wheels straightened and refurb'ed, also ~£400 including new centre caps
I'm reluctant to spend a load of money on straightening wheels that may still come back out of shape or weakened by the process, but at the same time, I like the standard wheels and don't really want to replace them with aftermarket wheels.
I can't make my mind up - any ideas / suggestions would be appreciated!!
