Was tootling along behind a mondeo when some chav in a corsa with a 6inch pipe and lowered to the deck came screeming past us both, So I went (like a chav I suppose) after him.

I was suprised how quick it was? It was de-badged so I dont know what engine it was but I had to give her some to keep up!

Just embarrasing to be beat by a corsa!

Don't worry about it, i've been against one of these before.. I did'nt loose but I could'nt pull away from it either. I just let him overtake me in the end because we hit a patch of fog but I suppose he thinks he won. It was black and had an SRI/GSI look mk1 corsa that was debadged. Astra 2l GSI and GSI turbo conversions are popular with the chavs so it could have been one of those. Obviously it weighs something similar to a baked bean can so you won't have much of a chance, especially in a straight line.

In most corsa they do fit 2.0L engine from Astra GSI or from a calibra there the most common! For a turbo conversion is much more expensive a rare but a simple Corsa GSI does not to 60MPH in 9.1 SEC so not far from an ST. GSI may only be a 1.6 L from a Tigra and only producing 106 BHP is cause the Corsa is much lighter than the ST and also have smaller wheel which make it a bit quicker but the handle on the GSI is far from good!

Perhaps it was a Tuned GSI but they are known to snap their cam belts oftenly because there is too much tension. If you think their hard to beat, try your luck at a 3L diesel BMW

the BMW 330D is even more powerful so there no much chance to race and win on a straight line but maybe can catch him on corner cos the ST probably handle better than the BMW especialy on the wet

Dad just bought a 335d 280bhp, I wouldnt stand a chance! and it does bout the same mpg. He had a go in the 335i twin turbo petrol that was like a rocket! But too thirsty on petrol.

I did notice that the corsa seemed to struggle on the corners. Needed a twistier road!

A lad i work with used to own a 2.0l Turbo Corsa, with two levels of boost. At level one the car has 235Hp and at level two it had 265hp and he had dyno tests for both, he used to drive round taking on TVR's etc.
Glad to say though that he is no chav!

Do you think he can really take on TVR's?? TVR are very fast off the light. The TVR is more powerful and also very light on weight maybe he can keep up on short race but on a long straight line the TVR would be much faster!

Absolutely done over by a converted Corsa GSI once. The bloke was nice though, not some smug chav and explained what the car had.

Could be worse.... I was on the motorway the other day in my 306 and got overtaken by a Nova that looked to be falling apart and billowing smoke out the back...... worst bit????..... a sticker in the back window informing me that "You've be Novataken".... the shame!
