I'm in the unfortunate position of having a rear wheel bearing go (after just 41k) So whilst I have the back end apart I thought I'd change the pads before service.
Is there a preferred pad people use or is there a cheap/easy upgrade I could even do along with it.

I'd like to do the 20mm or 12.5mm spacers at the same time but they won't be here in time upset

Any help would be appreciated happy

My rear bearing also went the other week, it's surprisingly expensive compared to on other models. upset

Wouldn't worry about doing the spacers at the same time, once you've had the brakes off once it's very easy to do again.

I got OEM grade pads (EBC Ultimax) coz they were cheap, but an upgrade to greenstuff etc would probably be good as they're not too costly. Other brands seem quite expensive. I think it's not recommendeded to just put uprated pads on the back with lesser pads on the front though. from EBC...

Honestly no point in upgrading

I think the rear on the RS does 8% braking
Its not gonna be a huge amount on the ST, so would just go standards

Okay lads, thanks for the input
You don't happen to know the rear hub must torque do you jimmy?
I've got it all apart ready to press the bearing in at work tomorrow

Like you mentioned I'll probably get EBC green stuff for the back now and in a few months I'll be doing the front so I'll match up or get the Mondeo upgrade or similar

This was my thought, only real upgrade is when you swap out drums for discs. Just match the discs and pads with what you have at the front or standards as Adam said.

I put the 280mm rear conversion on after i did the brembo front upgrade.under heavy braking the back end would try and overtake the front on occasions, bit bigger set up with uprated pads and discs seemed to bring it under control tho

I won't quite be going for the brembo upgrade haha!
It's now just a choice of just going pagid or what colour EBC's to go for.
Heard the Green's take a while to warm up? Not what I need at a sleepy 5.30am everyday! snigger
