Going to do an oil change soon, obviously will be using 5W30 fully synthetic but thinking of going for something other than Ford motorcraft.

What are people's preferred brands?

I'm on Mobil Super 3000. No issues to report! I thought Ford recommended the Mobil but I might be wrong!

To be honest there is nothing wrong with halfords own brand stuff.
The kit at work we use shell rimula on the HGV's and I think it's mobil in the merc sprinters. All had no problems really

Went for the mobil super 3000, only £24 for 5 litres at halfords at the moment.

Thanks for the input

Is it just me or is it really really hard to get a reading off these dipsticks?

With a new oil filter installed, how many litres should go in after a oil change?

When the oil is new it's really hard to tell where it is on the dipstick

I know just over 4 litres came out of mine because I filled two 2 litre bottles with the old oil.

The 'official' servicing volume is 4.3 litres

If they say 4.3litres don't just put it 4.3, always put less in first and keep checking the dipstick as you fill it up from there bit by bit.
We had it with the DAF's when we first got them. They said 37 litres, so that's what we did. They kept alarming on the dash with high oil level. There will always be a little old oil left in the sump

Yeah... I put 4 litres straight in (since I knew just over 4 had come out) and then added bit by bit while checking
