As most of you know I have ordered my next ST. I ordered it around the 4th of October and am expecting delivery on the 14th December. On the order pack I received from the dealer today it states the model as being 2006MY Fiesta ST. Does this just mean it is the facelift or is this the actual model year. I was hoping that I would get a 2007MY (or 2006.5MY at least). Obviously I would like to have the 2007MY. I am going to phone them tomorrow but if someone could shed some light that would be great.

Had mine a week now, on the order form it stated 2006.5MY.

No idea what differences there are to 2006MY, but I will bet that its nothing worthy of mention!!

What changes are there meant to be for 2007 though? Didn't someone say that they'd heard there were no changes to the ST coming up (other than the rumour of a possible ST+ next summer).

Just wondering what changes you were hoping to see in yours from the current facelift thats all.

Thats a bit weird! Im sure if mine is being factory build then it will be the latest. Just dont want to get a car that has been sat in a forecourt for months.

Its probably a code they use when they built the car, but don't no what it mean! The best thing to do is ask your dealer, he probably give u the answer!

Having spoken with Ford, again, this week about 2007 MY changes, they still don't know and won't know for definate for about 2 weeks to a month, it's strange because some manufacturers have their next model years on sale in july/aug!

What they have said is that it's likely to just be some interior changes - but who knows.

As for what a model year is, every year most car's have minor or major overhall's - new colours, trim, options and standard features, even new engines and the model year changeover is when these features often get introduced to add consistancy and to group revisions together to make it seem more worthwhile buying - rather than adding a paint choice in feb, a new sat nav in march, a revised front grille in apri etc.
