Hi
just put a new steering wheel on the fiesta and just wondering how to turn off the airbag light. I am using the car for track days and road so have done a few mods. Any advice on which coilovers to use would be great
Thanks

With the airbag light you need to wire in a resistor, normally they come with the steering wheels I thought?
If not you need to find out what resistance the standard airbag is and match it as to stop the light.
Am I right guys?...

Hi
the previous owner removed the wheel and fitted the new one. Apparently it wasn't supplied with a resistor

Hmm may have to make one unless ebay or similar does them?
When it comes to coilovers most guys praise AP or BC. Majority of people on here run 35mm Eibach lowering springs and some pair it with blisten shocks. Pick you poison depending on your budget really

It's normally around a 3.9Ohm resistor.

When I did the Saxo I cut off the airbag connector and soldered this into its place:
http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/metal-film-06w-39-ohm-resistor-m3r9

If you want to keep it a little bit more stock looking then don't cut the connector off, but try to wedge the legs of the resistor into the pins on the connector and make sure you insulate it (you don't want bare resistor metal accidentally earthing).

I have to be honest though - if you're still on standard seats and seatbelts I would be looking first of all to replace that steering wheel with a standard one with airbag. The only situation in which I'd recommend to remove the airbag is if you're using bucket seats and harnesses.

I wouldn't bother with an airbag if you have a harness.
With a normal seatbelt you move forward a little before it locks up and the airbag goes off. If you have a harness the airbag is essentially aiming at the wrong place... I think...
But it seems like you're going to have to make you own kit up
