Depends on how long your finance is over to be honest. If your finance is over 4 years or more then id say pay the extra. You have to remeber that most insurance companies to a replacement new car when its in in first year. Will you also be able to make up the diffrence from your saving etc if in say 2 years time its written off. I didnt take the gap insurance on my Leon purely because I knew that I would have the 5K needed to replace it again if it got written off after the first year. The last thing you want is to be paying for a car that you can no longer drive. At the end of the day its youyr decision though.

I bought GAP insurance for my ST only because i work in a garage and it only cost me £103.00 for the policy ,FORD wanted something daft like £399.00.My st is on finance over 12months it will then be paid off.You must remember gap will only pay out difference from insurance to invoice price so you should'nt be out of pocket, and at the end of the day you know its piece of mind if anything should happen to your car your covered.

I would say it is worth the money if you have a claim but where do you draw the line and stop protecting yourself against every eventuality?! Its not a lot of money to pay i suppose but if you do go for it, don't get it from Ford, there ae plenty of companies who offer it and a fraction of Ford's price.

I have always said no to GAP b4 but with the went for it cos kind of thought if the car was nicked it was much more likley never to be seen again or be written off

3 year return to invoice price cover, £141 online, you have to say yes at that price.
