Hi guys, Just had my brakes fully upgraded allround today, new discs (standard ford) ferodo brake pads and hel brake lines, its all been fitted but ford said that the front brake lines are too long, they have fitted them anyway without any clearance issues, just wondered if anyone else has the HEL hoes and if they are this long too.... the packaging all says ST150 so asuming they are correct and that they just happen to be longer than standard ST hoses,

I have hel brake lines. Tried to get a picture for you but have my winter wheels on now so was very hard to see.
I will take pictures for you when I'm changing wheels but that will be at least a week from now.
On mine it sems like they are mounted in a U- bow.. if you understand. Look at the great picture I have made.

They do look too long by a few inches, but I can't see it being a problem

yea I believe Ford said there isnt any issues with clearance theyve curved them around out the way, should be fine although my Ferodo DS2500 pads have done around 100miles now and are starting to squeak at low speed braking im hoping this is normal and as time goes by they will bed in more and quieten down, i hope

Just make sure the brake lines are not touching the body of the car when the wheels are on full lock, my back lines are a little long on the rear, was not an issue until I changed the standard springs to Eibach 30mm lowering springs. because the ride height was lower the brake lines was rubbing on the axle near the ABS cable.... so I used brake line grommets which work very well

the reason why your brakes are squeaking is because the fitter will not of used a little copper grease on the edges of the pads. it is nothing to worry about, just annoying.

doesn't yours seem to be longer then mine?

mine are alot longer than that, i have no clearance issues so just going to leave it, just guna put up with the squeeking, unless i cant cope then ill just get ford pads, no more money going into my car now i waan save for an upgrade, fiesta st mk7 or focus st mk2 hmmm
