As standard, I'm afraid the alarm is very quiet - this is due to the siren being located behind the passengers side rear seat panel which is why you can hardly hear it.

One option is to get a second alarm installed eg. from Clifford, but I'm also led to believe that if you can find the positive and negative (possibly located in the boot) of the standard siren you can wire it up to a louder one, eg. to the horn.

The wessie alarm was apparently to meet some new regulations at the time but I think, ford went too quiet, mind given all the GEM issue the facelift Mk6 had when they came out that made the alarm go off randomly it was maybe a good thing!

I had a Clifford put on theMk6 much better alarm and with self closure & proximity alarm added it was a nice extra bit of protection and laziness of not needing to close the windows when parking

Yeh they worked together fine, the only thing the fitter could not do t mine was get the double lock to,work but I believe they updat ed the controls to,give a 2nd output to sort it If I wanted to double lock I would set the ford stream then the Clifford and do it in reverse to open it
