I have been getting a noise for a couple of months now, which only seems to occur when I am on the motorway or carriageways or anywhere I am going around 50mph or above for a consistent amount of time. Sounds like a whirring noise coming from the direction of engine, but it more a of a high pitch constant noise which gets stronger if I press the accelerator and dims down when I let go of accelerator but you can still hear it. It is quite loud and rather irritating. Not sure if anyone has any ides what this could be? Fiesta ST MK6.

Could be the metal heat shield that's a common one but of course it could be a number of things ie air leak etc etc, check manifold bolts, could be loose

I have noticed this, almost sounds like the fuel pump but coming from the front, I wonder if it's the coolant pump needing changing as mine's never been done.

Forgot to mention it can also be the aux belt idler/tensioner.
Pretty sure it's a 10 year replacement item along with the aux belt.

no noises from my car but I've never been informed by the garage that I need any aux belts etc changing, 11 years old now.
