Hi guys giving the diesel a full service next weekend.

Going to flush the coolant out and refresh.

How much do I need to refill? Ford supply 5l or 1l. Will the 5l be enough?

Hi Ricky,

For a Fiesta 1.6 TDCI 2005-2008 DuraTorq-TDCI engine the capacity is 3.8L with filter 0.4L. 5L will actually be too much. I'd fill the filter before putting on, fill up to 4L and then slowly apply the 0.2 leaving to rest and check.

Filter? I assume you mean oil?

I use Miller's oils site to get fluid capacities (just bear in mind it uses a comma for a decimal points) which comes up as 6 litres of coolant.

As above for oil capacity. I've started pre-filling the filter as well.

I should learn to read properly. My reply was the Oil capacity. Jimmy will be right with the coolant. just flush it and refill ensuring no air locks. Turn the engine on when your happy and leave it ticking over until it's warm and top up as necessary.
