Hi all. I've purchased a aftermarket exhaust that has the back box and center section as 1 piece "no joins" how do I go about fitting it. The middle section is way to big to fit through the slot above the rear beam. Do I have to lower the rear beam. Anyone with any info would be much appreciated.

I think that's the only way you can remove/fit it without cutting, people have done it that way before.

The official Ford procedure is to cut it. You probably don't want to cut and clamp a brand new exhaust but it might be the easier option.

Quote:
All exhaust systems are single-part systems. The final muffler can be renewed separately in service. In this case the pipe needs to be cut through, and the new final muffler needs to be secured with a servicing clamp.

If you decide to remove the beam, as a first step you could maybe try disconnecting just the lower shock mounting bolts for a bit of extra wiggle room behind the beam, if that doesn't work try disconnecting just one side of the beam so the beam alignment won't be changed, then a last resort take the beam off.

Just a update. Fitted the exhaust cat back. Had to take off and leave off a metal bracket that is about 20 inches long from near the middle section of the exhaust as it was touching it and making a banging sound it looks like the part is to stop the exhaust from dropping down. Anyone know if it's safe to leave this part off or what it's called.

Ah yes, like a cross member piece going across the tunnel?
Yes I believe people have had to take that off and left it off otherwise the exhaust knocks on it.
I got away with leaving it on, but my system is partly custom.

Cheers for the info mate. I couldn't think of what that piece was called so hard to find info about it. But glad it's safe to leave off the car. Cheers
