It's a fiddly job, I removed the drivers headlight for better access.
Get photos of the routing of the aux belt before you start.
The tensioner is on a spring and easily pulled back. This would be a good time to replace the belt and tensioner if required.
The pump in mine was a bit of a pig to remove due to having a bit of sealant added to it
Clean the mating face as best you can. I added a wee smear of sealant as well.
It would also be a good time to change the thermostat. It's as much of a pain to do as the pump is but it will save you having to drain the coolant twice.
