Firstly not an ST but I see you guys are open to discussion about any model of this age.

All of a sudden no reverse drive at all. All other gears work fine. Reverse lights also don't work. Have tried resetting the linkage with no difference. Any suggestions or is it replacement gearbox?

It's essentially the same gearbox throughout all the mk6 Fiesta range. Ive never looked inside a gearbox but I'm pretty sure reverse and 5th share a shaft so I'm surprised 5th isn't affected, so tbh I'm not sure what it could be.

On the front of the box there is a pull-off plastic cover where you can see where the cables connect to the shifters so if you haven't already it might be worth popping that off and having someone move it into reverse with the engine off to double check its moving sort of correctly.

I remember when the reverse light switch failed on mine it popped out of reverse and I was worried for a second, but after that first pop it went back in OK until I got a new switch.
