did my usual blast couple miles down some 50mph and motorway slip road and called at the local B&Q for some bits, got home parked up and bloody great big screw in my rear tyre. Gone in sideways in the tread, might not have gone through, I'll check pressures in morning. Booked in at ATS for repair if can, then I rang back and said forget it put me a new one on to give them time to order one as first free slot is saturday and don't want to go back again if they can't repair it. dam less then 12 months old Michelin Pilot Sp3, they are ordering SP5 £140 !

I've had a shocking run of luck with punctures as well, seems every time I look at the car one tyre is flat. I like rain sports I'm using at the moment but the sidewalls are very soft so have to have them about 34 psi front and back

My only advisory this year on the MOT was a nail in the rear tyre - a 3 month old PilotSport 4, I was livid.

Reminds me that I should probably sort that out - the cars been off the road since October. Finished the clutch change and ended up with what I think is a screwed wheel bearing (ABS not reading drivers front wheel speed, even with replacement sensor, and a grinding noise that changes with road speed).

BMW is another story - last week I stopped and helped having witnessed an accident and while I was clearing bits of broken plastic out of the road I must have launched a bit under my car - fast forward to a day later to find I'm driving on a flat and the tyre has a slice in the tread, through the cords. New pair of rear tyres as they were coming up to needing replacing anyway, but that was £300 I could have done without having to pay!!

it's also the tyre that doesn't seal well and loses air, so I don't mind too much getting a new tyre on again.

Unless the tyre is damaged or a very old tyre that's started to degrade, that is probably corrosion inside the rim preventing the bead from sealing. That's an issue that I've had

yep very likely, they have cleaned and sealed it in the past and been fine and then other times or other tyres leaky. I'll mention it tommorrow.

ATS yesterday all sorted with a new PS5, it was fun though, left it with them and went for a walk they were busy and behind, walked past half hour later and I could see the front end jacked up ? eh

continued more walking then went back to the waiting room and had to wait a bit longer, explanation was new lad (young) did not listen correctly and took off both front wheels and one tyre off off one of those until manager spotted him and said were only doing one and it's the rear !

Anyway got free nitrogen (£1.80 per wheel) and £140 fitted price for tyre.
