By the old book of yesteryear, the rule was never take it over 3000 revs for the first 500 miles.

Todays engine tollerancies allow for a little more IMO.

I was told by my dealer that as long as you take the revs up and down a little there won't be any problems.

When i picked mine up it had 2 miles on the clock and did just what he said.

For the first 500 miles i took it to a max of 5k, but no more, after which i slowly gave it some more up to 1000 miles.

And now.....I just let it go

my dealer said to not go over 5000 RPM or 100MPH so everytime I push the car up to 5000RPM but sometime did go a little over to 5500RPM! now just go flat out!!

I was told that 4000RPM was the limit for 1000 miles, i tried to stick to it but only managed 500 miles. I think it is important that you break the engine in properly after all its metal on metal and you really dont want to knacker your engine up straight away. After that the fun begins...
