Not so sure it's over priced... This is a proper Gr. N car built by M Sport and ready to be campaigned in the Trophy. I'm sure it would cost more if purchased directly from M Sport. As to the comparison against the WRC concept well it all depends what you want to do with them. This car can be lined up at any FIA compliant rally while the other one well there's not much you can do apart take it to track days. Personally I like both of them... they're white...

Do you think this car is road legal like the other 450BHP Fiesta?

Yes it's road legal.

As Nick says the pricing isn't overpriced at all. I have been all the way to Cumbria to the M-sport facility (check out one of our events all the pictures are there) and it's amazing how much things cost!!!

No way they are well expensive . Just ordered my fiesta PX05 AFK for £82,000.00 was going to go for the focus ET53 UNY but couldnt get the finance through options of £375,000.00
Now understand what nick was saying about the cost and how this one is cheap not knowing much about rallying apart from enjoy watching it didn't realise it was this expensive to do think i'll stick to football bit cheaper

Not if you buy a team...

It's a shame that there are no Gr. N's currently for sale at M Sport so it's difficult to compare against the one which is on ebay.

Gr.N is one of the FIA categories for rallying regulations. Group N is meant to be the basic level of preparation of a rally car. In the good ol' days when the regulations were introduced they were strictly normal road cars only modified to a very minimal extent to improve safety (they had a roll cage installed, bucket seats, a harness and a few more very minor modifications). Nowadays there are many more things which can be modified while still remining within the boundaries of what Gr. N allows. Namely you can now remove carpet, back seats, parcel shelf, replace door trims with kevlar panels and a bunch more stuff to lighten your car whereas previously you couldn't. Even some engine mods are now allowed to improve performance, like changing parts of the exhaust, and other minor stuff.

Since the introduction of the WRC extension to Gr. A, normal Gr. A cars have almost ceased to exist in top level rallying. The new regulations have made Gr. N cars almost as quick as what a 10 year old Gr. A car used to be. Take a an Evo 8 or an Impreza Gr.N and it is pretty much competitive as it comes out of the showroom. Now imagine lightening it by 100 kilos and getting the power up to 300 bhp (theoretical maximum allowed)...

Dont they limit you on weight hasn't the car got to weigh so much and a performance figure has to be met but not gone over. Understand now takes a while for the penny to drop sometimes but least i know i love watching it and would like to know more about the sport but none of my mates aint got a clue

Silly as it sounds we actually had this debate once before about getting a car from M-Sport:

http://www.fordfiestast.co.uk/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=33614&an=0&page=6#33614

The only problem was we all ended up squabbling about who would get to drive her first and who would have to run her in!!
