Hi,

I'm thinking of buying a new ST and would welcome any advice anyone has to offer about specs, what to avoid etc ? I'm based in North Wales in the UK.
I'm thinking of getting a white one with the go faster stripes on. Also thinking of getting the power fold mirrors. Any other extras worth getting ?

One question I do have is do I need to get the smokers pack for my snooper radar detector to work, which runs off a cigarette lighter ?

Many Thanks,

Hi there,

Welcome to the forum. I orederd my car without the smoker's pack but it still does have the power plug. It's a plug identical to the one fitted if you have a cigarette lighter, except there is no lighter in there and has a plastic cover on it for when you don't use it. The ashtray is also removed if you don't have the smoker's pack and the "hole" that is left becomes a cup holder (a can will also fit).

Welcome to the forum. As above really the smokers pack is just a cigarette lighter and an ash tray so no probs with your snooper it will work without the smokers pack u have a power point in all fiesta's. Good colour choice there i went for power fold mirrors as well as privacy glass, auto lights and wipers, and EATC

Power fold mirrors, a toy really but fantastic nevertheless.

Privacy glass, much cheaper to let ford fit it at the factory & looks great.

EATC WOW!!!! this is an absoloute must far far better than the standard aircon unit! beleive me i had the pre facelift ST until Sept this Year when i took delivery of my facelift ST & the difference from the standard aircon to EATC is just phenominal.

I Pod connection also a must at £20.

by the way i had all of the above fitted on my new ST, i thought the other options were either too expensive (reflex pack) or just just not useful to me.

Also St's are now being heavily discounted & you could pick up a standard model brand new factory ordered for £10495 from a Ford franchised dealer.

Hey welcome to the site! I car came with smoker which I didn't order but the ash tray is useful to store little object. got the auto light and wiper and folding mirror. The auto light is not that good had the light on all day after coming out of a tunnel even so it was sunny outside. The auto wiper sometime go on for no reason cos it not raining. Also have the reflex pack on my car is useful when the weather is not very good have the ESP light come on everyday maybe the way im driving! all the option come as standard in my country. useful Option is the heat screen when you got ice on your car it melt very fast!

I'd go for the leather seats for about £600 extraas they are heated too, bargain i think. The leather is good quality and looks good. Depends how much you're willing to spend over the asking price i suppose. I've got the standard Air Con which is decent enough. With winter coming up, traction control might be worth thinking of too, depends if you're driving's a bit tasty!

IMO get it in either red, white or blue. The blue looks good with and without stripes but I think the red and white need the stripes to break up cars a little.... looks ace!

I got mine loaded up with leather, priv glass, auto AC, Bluetooth, auto lights/wipers and stripes and am going to fit the ipod cable myself (its 20quid to get ford to fit it and 7quid to buy the cable and fit yourself..... seems silly to try to save £13 but rather in my pocket than someone elses!).

I haven't got it yet, so can't comment on how things work, but told that the bluetooth is good..... also controls your CD/radio and auto AC

Whatever way you go you'll have gem of a car and driving it will be the same no matter what options you get..... its just crashing it that makes you wish you went for the ESP and extra airbags

No voucher - just some hard bartering. Price excludes the stripes - but still a good deal in the end.

Cheers,
