hi guys,
has any of you folks out there got, or thinking about getting a tracker
or an rac trackstar,i,ve been looking at the prices, must admit though
£400 plus a monthly or quarterly fee,or a duration of ownership fee
might be worth looking at for a piece of mind.

True i Thought the same but it works out expensive and it doesn't reduce your insurance premium. Once someone has nicked your car ragged it took it off roading and wrecked it would you want it back again? as much as it sounds horrible i would rather take GAP out and if it got nicked then i'd get the full money back to buy another brand new one same spec just my opinion though yourself and others may have another opinion

Agreed.

Maybe on BM's, Boxters, Jags, Mercs etc. the tracker is worth it because the thieves park them up for a day or two in a well to do place before any damage is done to see if the appear,if they do, they know that a tracker is fitted, if they don't, they then start stripping it.

But a Fiesta will just be trashed in a couple of hours of racing.

Again, only an opinion.

Think Kev has got some inside information here
Only joking mate yeah agree with what you say though there are going to be the ones who nick the hot hatches for getaways and to have some fun in and there are the ones as you quite rightly say nick the cars either to sell on ship abroad or to strip them down from the luxury end of the market like the jags bmw's etc etc and will keep them locked up for day or so before they do owt to them

Yes Kev is a pro of stealing luxury cars! Is job it just a cover!! But more seriously stealing a car like a ST is more for racing around then burn it down rather to more luxury cars which usally are sold back!

. All i'll say is that, with age, comes experience. .

So, don't waste your money on a tracker . Up to you though .

the fiesta (not ST) is the 4th most stolen car in the uk according to a what car article i read a few months ago. maybe the st is higher up cos its more specialised.

. No, honestly hav'nt . It's just a bit of the common stuff, and working in the car industry for so many years.

There is one specific luxury car that i heard the rectifiers used to have competitions on how long it took to get in, (obviously without breaking or smashing anything), i heard one rectifiers best was about 5 secs, and that was'nt the fastest!....This was all done to assist the engineers with better security designs though .
