Hi i am after some advice.
I have seen a blue ST at my local dealer that has covered 24,000 miles on a march o5 plate. Its in good condition.
Ive managed to get him down to £9000 however im not to sure if the mileage is good for a car of this age?
the alloys have all been scuffed as well and he wont chuck in any tax or petrol.
Im due to pick the car up on thursday but im dubious!! It also has 2 years left on the warranty and i would be getting the car on finance.
any help please
thanks.

18-20K miles would be average for this age, so it's well over, if the alloys are repairable it's about £50 a wheel, year's tax is another £150, tank of petrol £40...given the age have you checked the tyres too - it's another £100-150 a tyre if they need changing any time soon...

..so £9K is not really that huge a discount off the cost of a new car when you add it all up especially as you can buy a brand new one for £10.5K from Archers of Ashby in Leicester, and from sites such as Autoebid, as it's a finance deal i'm sure the extra money can be stretched and is worthwhile...

to be honesy i can only really afford about £220 on monthly payment plus my insurance which works out about £88 a month. anything over 9 or 10 grand wouldnt be possible.
Is there anything that i should be wary of ie any faults with a used st?

Where are you getting your finance from - if it's from the dealer I can guarantee any high street bank can give you a better rate - check out moneysavingexpert.com for the very best loan's/finance deal's available.

mr brothers friend works at this ford garage and is going to try and get me some tax thrown in, the alloys are curbed but not very badly and the tyres look like they are brand new, but they are not the pirelli ones.

Doesn't work, but as I've said considering the above I think it's over priced for an above-avg mileage, pre-facelift car with no tax, petrol and damaged wheels.

I think its well over price compared to the mileage of the car and also the condition of the vehicule!

i did sign something today when i went in to the showroom.
I do like the car but i dont think i will be getting it.
I have seen another one at another showroom for £9800, this one has covered just under 10,000.
I think this one is a bit dodgy as the price doesnt match the mileage.

If anyone buys a second hand car from a garage ask them if the car has had a HPI check.

If they say it has, get them to show you the paperwork.

If they say it has'nt had a HPI check on it, stay well clear .

It depends what you signed for i'm afraid.
It only takes one signature to bind you to a contract.
Is it a Ford garage?
