Hi folks,
Already thinking of things to put on and do up my new car. My bro has an aluminium plate over his back brake light and when he brakes you can see the word focus. I really like this and have asked him where he got it from, he told me he bought it off someone off the site a while ago and doesn't really know where to get one from. Obviously I would want one that says fiesta not focus! Can anybody help me out by giving me some idea of where to get one from?
OOOh no scott ripping you off already and my wheels are enough to be jealous of! Sorry bro x

Becky, like you I thought about this and looked for one a long time ago. Unfortunately I couldn't find one anywhere though. Maybe it could be because of the strange prism type shape that the mk6 Fiesta has for the centre brake light and no ones been able to design one to fit, not sure. I have seen vinyl ones for sale in the past that you just stick on, but they don't look as good IMO.

LOL @ fluffy pink!!!

I bent mine a little so that it fit perfect with the curving shape of the rear hatch.

I have 2 screws that hold mine in place, i don't think the fez has these... i'm curious!!!

The search goes on!

Well... I found a website just now that has them (the metal ones) for sale for the mk4 and mk5 Fiesta, as well as the Focus ones. I've just fired off an email to them saying they look good and if they have any plans to bring any out for the mk6. Even if I get a reply saying no, perhaps their response may say why. Will have to wait and see.

Bad news I'm afraid Becky. Just seen this email I'd got in reply:

Quote:

SORRY CHRIS,
WE ARE UNABLE TO MAKE A BRAKE LIGHT COVER FOR YOUR CAR AS IT IS CURVED AND SO WE ARE UNABLE TO LASER CUT IT.
ALL THE BEST ROY

At least we know now why none are available anywhere.

You could probably make one... get a bit of alloy, drill the word out, use a electric polisher and then get a clamp and bend it over to fit the shape. Only problem then would be a way of fixing it to the car... there are no screws like my car has...

I dont think it would be that easy scott, you would have to drill out the letters but obviously then it would look like loads of circles so it'd take hours of filing to get straight lines, to fit it could you just use double sided tape?

It would fall off at high speed with the pressure that is put on it... very dangerous situation if it fell off, cracked the windscreen of the car behind and they caused an accident...

It would need to be secured properly or with some glue (like spoilers)

If you had a Jigsaw you could straighten the edges quicker and file the hard bits.

I think strong tape would be ok because its at the back of the car so there isnt as much air on it asif it was at the front, a jigsaw would work, would still be hard though, maybe somone will have a go and let us know how it goes
