I have just been looking over the Ford website at the redesigned site and have noticed that from the first quarter of 2007 Ford will be offering a technology pack for the ghia, Z-S and ST which will consist of auto headlights and wipers, power fold mirrors, remote controls for the radio/cd and a second remote key. What strikes me as a bit bizarre is that the remote controls for the stereo are already standard on a majority of the fiesta range so why are they adding this to a technology pack. Unless they are planning to take it off the car and add it as a cost option. Has anyone else heard any more details about this?

They are also offering a sport pack for the zetec climate with 16" alloys and privacy glass.
It also looks like the ESP/reflex pack option will be available throughout the range (about time too).

It will be interesting to see prices for these 'packs' and whether that is the only difference to the range.

Interesting! You can already get the 16" alloys and privacy glass for the Zetec Climate. They are an option so why are offering an option that is already an option

Seems they are simply re-wording the already worded!

It is a bit strange isnt it. The only thing that is really new is the ESP on the other models. What you've said for the Zetec is true about the Tech Pack for the ST as well. I think they will be cheaper in a pack than buying the options seperatly but we'll have to wait and see. Just trying to introduce something 'new' most likely.

Yer i suppose they have to keep trying to push things. I don't see the point in having an ESP on other models as the Fiesta is so stable that the only model that it would benefit on would be the and even with the I don't think you need it.

Looking at the site, it definitely seems like the remote is just an option for the Zetec-S, since under Fiesta Zetec-S features it just lists "stereo radio/cd". For the ST I think they've just made a mistake there - under Fiesta ST features it states "Stereo radio / 6-CD 6006 with remote controls", and then has the thing about the Technology Pack further down. They've probably just wrote the same thing as for the Z-S without thinking.

The park assist shows as a factory option on the uk site, but the interior pack is gone on the current config.

Yup certainly has. I thought they would put the price of the technology pack at £200. thats a list price saving of £120 over the seperate options as they were previously. Also, am i right in thinking that the reflex pack has been reduced by £75 and you can now have the ESP as a standalone option for £350? Its a bit confusing as when you select the ESP the reflex pack is grey out - and vice versa. And the interior styling pack is that hideous silver radio surround thingy with the colour coordinated mats. I do like the mats but i think they silver surround is a bit cheap looking to be honest.

Nothing has actually changed to be honest really. they have just adjusted the prices and called the options by a new name. which im really relieved about cos i would be mega annoyed if they had changed something with me just about to pick mine up!

Snap. Mine is due to be delivered next week. But thats the problem with buying at the end of the year, the next years "shuffle" to the model is always due. Of course its possible you get some things that you shouldnt as the parts bin run down. Mine was ordered with factory fitted rear sensors, something half the site says I cant have, and half says I can!

Fords price list also changes next week.
