irish n00b Registered: 11/12/05 Posts: 40 Loc: Ireland	hello all Its a while since i have looked in. Has anybody else heard a knocking sound from the passenger front wheel, my mechanic mate says it sounds like a bushing gone! So i'm just wondering if anybody else has had this or am i just unlucky! oh and my cd player packed in today!

irish n00b Registered: 11/12/05 Posts: 40 Loc: Ireland	I had a quick look for another thread about the front knocking but didnt see anything! CD player is showing the cdc error. The noise is defo from the front and appears to be exturnal and i have the noise in the back too but that sounds inturnal i'm not as worried about that. I think i will be back to the dealer in the new year for the 3rd time.

Nick02 Registered: 19/02/05 Posts: 2608 Loc: Switzerland	Hi Irish, If you hear the knocking noide going over bumps and around corners then it's likely to be the power steering hose. Many ST's have this and apparently there is a replacement part to fix this problem but no official recall by ford which I guess means that only customers who complain will have it fixed. If I remember correctly Michael had this fixed on his car. I still have the fault on mine but I've learned to live with it. Edited by Nick02 (17/12/06 02:23 PM)

I'm doing a lot of miles so i might go for a TDI leon/golf the 170bhp versions or go for the old 150bhp A4 and get it chipped.

It doesn't sound the same fault Nick as the knock was through the steering column for the PAS pipe. I also would have thought it would be sorted out on the facelifts. ..... but you never know with FORD I'd say its suspension related, lower arm.

Doesnt really bother me, I have learnt to live with the rattles and faults now. The audi should sort your problems they are solidly built, unlike ford!
