Right...

Here's a post that I know that a lot of you have been waiting for and this is it, giving initial details of our Easter Meet for 2007.

The date will be FRIDAY April the 6th to SUNDAY April the 8th

I know that originally this meet was meant to be incorporating a racing event, but I've been having a look at the calendars for the two circuits in the Yorkshire area - Croft and Oliver's Mount - and neither have anything planned for around that time, so I think that that idea must go out of the window now.

So... I've been having a look at what else. Well, near the coast of North Yorkshire seems like it could be the best place we could go to. I've had a look at campsites and this one seems OK for those who wish to camp:

http://www.humblebeefarm.co.uk/aroundthefarm.htm

The prices are very reasonable, the facilities look good, it seems like they have no restrictions on who stops there and also from the pictures you can park besides the tents - a big MUST for me and most others. The only thing is that they only have 20 pitches - but hopefully shouldn't be a problem if people book before too long. Also, I'd imagine at that time of year a lot of you will be preferring to stay in the warmth of a hotel anyways!

I've picked that location since it does seem a handy place. Its only a few miles from Scarborough on the coast which is a nice seaside town we could visit, also has a small funfair which the kids could enjoy. A little further up the coast (26 miles away) you've also got Whitby, which is a small coastal town in the St Ives mould (for those who remember from the Cornwall event). Obviously at either of these we could have a photoshoot as well.

You're also not very far from entering the Yorkshire Moors National Park, if we wanted a drive into there at some point. Also, its about 36 miles from York which we could go to, maybe see the castle for one thing and also possible to go ten pin bowling again there one night if we wished.

Basically at the moment I'm just having a first look at floating a few ideas around at the minute. It's everyones meet, not mine, so if anyone has any good ideas or suggestions as to what they wish to do then feel free to post them!

Just to add to that lot above, it might be an idea to visit a place called Esholt - this is where Emmerdale used to filmed before they moved to a purpose built set. Could have a photoshoot outside The Woolpack maybe (thanks to Becky for this idea ).

Also there's these nearby canals we could have a walk along:

The only snag I found initially is that it's about 70 miles from where we would be staying. Yorkshire is a MASSIVE county! So it could be an idea for us to go there on the Sunday after we've all packed up from the campsite and heading back. It's in the rough direction that most of us will be heading when going home, so shouldn't be a problem.

We've had a fantastic time at our events in the past, and I can't wait for Easter to come around to go to this one.

Please reply on this thread giving your views and to let me know who will be coming.

Hope to see those of you who've come in the past come again, and also hope to see some new faces there, we're all friendly people so don't worry!

Regards

ChrisC

Yes, although it would be great to see you there, I can totally understand that it would be a long way for you to come for a couple of days. We haven't yet decided where the summer event will be held, but one of the options being considered is France. If it was held there (and I'm not yet saying that it will be) then would be great to see yourself and some of our other European members then!

If u were decide to do a summer event in France then they should be more European members but probably less UK members! SO either way Don't think it never be possible to have everyone at a meet
