I have done 4600 miles in 4 months since picking up my beloved ST! How does this compare to you?

Personally I think this is too high and put down to it being a new car and the first decent one I have owned.

PS - Ive got the car on HP so need to be wary of annual mileage.

Hi mate, and welcome.
First of all, what kind of HP terms have you got? i.e. if you have bought it on the Options scheme you do need to take care of the mileage, depending on the terms.Normally, if you keep it under 12k in one year it's OK.
On the other hand, if you have bought it second hand from a garage, don't worry about it.

Well in the 4 months I was back from Uni in the summer I clocked up over 10,000 miles.

The car is 3 years old and it's done nearly 60,000 miles. You know what though. I've loved EVERY SECOND OF IT

4600 does not sound bad to me about 1000 a month is average mine is now 9 months old and just under 9k but Kevs right on the options thing. I had not noticed the 12k limit till the other day when reading the stuff.....I was going to buy mine outright but they offered me 50% at collection and 50% intreset free in a year so thought I may as well keep the cash in the bank and make the interest.....I got an options letter the other day and looked at my paper work and had not realised the deal was and Options one so if I want I can do the GFV thing....dont think I will as I noramlly would wait 3 years b4 changing the car.

Yeah she did she has just come out of the Navy she was based in Plymouth so she commuted to Plymouth every Sunday Night and then back to Coventry on a Friday morning sometimes had to go to Portsmouth as well for training and then using car for personel use half clocked them up. I used to do 20 and that was horrible

On my ST most of the mileages (7500miles) are done for getting to the Ford dealer so many times!! and most of the rest was just to drive around play with my ST on B road or showing off in Town!! Did a bit mileage for 2 months due to work (20 Miles everyday except weekend)but now I just live next to it! So don't have to use my car!!

Yeah I purchased new on Ford Options, with a 12000 annual mileage limit.

I did ask at the time of signing what happens if you go over this and he said they're not that worried, it's just that if you come to trade it in at the end of the agreement and its over they may charge you, or the price may be lower.

Not too concerned at the moment, I hav never done so much driving since gettin the ST. Hehe

Plan to stop using it for sily journeys now, well try!

If you go over the 12000 miles they usually charge you money per mile or you will get less trade in price for it.
They are quite strict on this though from what I know in the past.

I wouldnt worry, as STifler said, my car has racked up 24,000 just for going to work and back and its only just over a year old. i have a two year options deal which means can't give it back till sept 07 (!) and its done the max mileage already, so consequently im gonna have to buy it in sept or pay them thousands in mileage costs. Such a pain.
