Over the next few weeks i intend to start planning whati will be doing as regards to sound, i will be building a boot conversion but keepingthe practicality of the boot asbeing able to access the boot, i will show the plans as soon as wh illustrate them, but as far as i am aware i will use 2 10 inch subs in the corners of the boot along with a slant on the back of the boot which will contain a sealed piece, this will compensate the volume required for the 2 subs there will be 2 amps mounted to this slant on this board, one alpine V power Mono Block amp which 2 infinity 10 inch sub wil link up to, and the other amp will be a pheonix gold octane r amp which will mplify a front component system for the front of the car, as sound should come from the front of you i will try and look at infinity front component system and see what i can fit in the front and where to put my tweeters too and where the crossovers can go i intend to mae it nice and neat and not have everything on show only the 2 subs and aps in the boot, i also intend to kep the parcel shelf, this in conclusion wil make the car kept un ruined, but with geat low tones from the back and clarity from a nice component systems front.

So i will need help on:

1. what speaker sizes are in the front and has anyone managed to get mounting plates so i can get 6.5 inch front component speakers in the front doors.

2. which component system? infinity kappa series im looking at.

3.ideas on where i can hide the crossover boxes

Any help would be greatly appreciated, and anyne done anything similar to this please post some pics of your conversions.

Thnks Guys!

The speaker size in the front for the ones that are fitted as standard are 5x7.

hey guys,
on my old fiesta with the 3 tier head unit i had to disconnect my rear door speakers in order to fit a sub and 6x9s. do you kno if you have to disconnect the rears with the 6006 head unit or can i run all 4 door speakers?
also on my test drive i found that the 6006 sounded louder than the 3 tier system. is this true?

im unsure as im only familiar with the 6006CDC and i wont be using 6x9s as there is no point with a sub and a front component system. as sound should come in front of you in a car and low tones should be behind you. In an Ideal World Anyways!

ok so this is the setup that we will be making work in the next week, just posted it up to see what others think, we are working on the illustration of the boot conversion so it is minimal and practical for using the boot. Will keep everyone who is interested posted. Now im offf to bed, girlfreind needs some TLC.

ok as word of update for people who know about wiring i have changed my mind on running them in series, too hot and may blow summit!

So going to run in parralel which means a new Mono Amp.

Ideally becasue the subs are actually 4 ohm 400watt rms 1600 peak then they will require a mono amp that is capable of 800 watt @ 2 ohms there or there abouts

the ones i been looking at are alpine vibe rockford fostagate and pheonix gold

mainly it seems vibe are the cheapest on ebay at the moment anyone else have any ideas?

thanks ritchie c me and my freind neil were out last night in the rain measuring up the boot and making out of cardboard a mock up to determine a rough guide of volumes for the subs, think we worked out we have over 98 litres at the mo of volume, and the subs from infinity vary from you can use the minimum of 35 litre per sub to 65 litres per sub! which is a whole boot installment really. i want to be able to use the boot and also be able to restore the car the its origonal look etc.
