I insured my ST myself, fully comp, for the year, upto 12,000 miles, for just under £700. I am very happy with that. That's with Elephant btw. Directline quoted me just over £800. Every other company was way too expensive (£1300+).
I think a combination of being a touch older (24), plus driving for 7 years with no claims or accidents, plus the fact that my car is always parked in my driveway at night helped keep the cost down. But still, I was surprised. I expected it to be £900 - £1000 for the year.

I agree, for 20 years old, that's a great price.

I actually tried them a few moments ago and they were cheap. I have actually been driving as a named driver under my Dad's insurance for the last few years, so I don't have any no claims as the policy is in his name. However for the first time in my name for a 21 year old on an it was still good!
