Scotty Porsche 997 Turbo & ST150 Registered: 27/02/04 Posts: 18100 Loc: Nuneaton, Warwickshire	Well... Doesn't look promising guys... my current lowest quote is 1600 named driver which is far 2 much when im not building up any no claims bonus... Im waiting to hear from one more broker whos my friends dad but from the reply he gives me decides if the Keys to a new get into my hands or it ends up all being a vague dream in a cloudy mist of hopeful prayers. I have been talking to the Insurance companies about how much 1 years no claims bonus would affect me on a and they quoted me... Now: £3000 1 yrs No claims: £2000 £1000 difference... it just shows you how much it affects the quote on powerful cars! My Focus isn't half bad and i really do love her to bits still!!! _________________________

Nope When i was 17 i drove my dads company car focus around as it was free insurance, free tyres , free servicing, free everything so i managed to get 17,500miles on that in the space of 7 months. I then had my 1.8 focus private and insured it under my dad as it was fully protected no claims and the price was shocking to insure it by myself... 18yrs old No NCB - 1.8 Focus = £3000 Under my dad it came to - £750 But im now 19 and have bumped the quota up to 18k and its £850. Bumped it up as i managed 24k in a year On my own it is £1600 which isn't 2 bad but yet still £800 which i do not wish to fork out for insurance just yet! When i am 21 everything will go down and ill then fork out for my own! _________________________

supercharged Fiesta Fan Registered: 24/05/04 Posts: 214 Loc: Nuneaton, Warwickshire	Well this is the issue, as soon as i past my test around March 03, i got my own car an managed to insure it then, therefore come march this year i will have 2 years no claim bonus that i've earn't myself. That really why my insurance quotes are alot better than you getting atm for it! I wonder how, or if you can get around this issue to get your ST!

I have been a named driver now for three years because it wasn't worth me getting my own, couple of hundred pounds compared to well over a thousand. Good luck with getting a cheaper quote! Chris

Taff n00b Registered: 03/06/04 Posts: 22 Loc: Beds/Herts	Just been quoted over £1400 for the st. I'm 21 with 0 yrs NCB, with an accident claim last year. Better than I thought it would be. But with 1 yrs NBC only £50 cheaper not as good as I'd thought it'd be. That was with www.elephant.co.uk
