Looking at the pics of those ST already delivered I see the radio in 3 small pieces with the plastic around it being 1 piece.
Does this means I can not put a standard DIN radio in there?!

you can, but you have to change that part in the middle so you get a din format. its not so expensive to buy. but the standard radio isnt bad. ive got my entire setup on it and pumps out 132dB

Thats the first thing i want to replace, to install a DAB/mp3 radio. How much would it be for the conversion kit? would it have to be done by a professional?

I believe what you buy is the sat nav facia first from ford at a price of about £40, then you can buy an adapter from autoleads which won't cost to much, this setup would give you a double din capabilities!

I just want 1 DIN though.. any coverups available for that second hole? Or even better the plastics with just 1 hole?

i`d be very intersted to hear how you managed to do that. I don`t really like the looks of the standard radio in the MK6 but anyway it`s better than fitting an aftermarket one I reckon. Does the standard radio has an output for an amp??.... I`m affraid not so how did you manage to hook up an amp and subs??......

Thanks

the brand Caliber (known over the world) has little boxes you have to put one between a left and right speaker cable, it makes that signal into a normal amp signal. you can attach you amp cable to that and go all the way to the trunk. so you attach it somewhere behind your radio and you make sure that a left and right wire go tru it and voila: amp signal. ill try to make a picture of it tomorrow. gonna look if i cant find one on the caliber website

edit: http://www.caliber.nl/catalog/index.php?cPath=33_75 <- in dutch

I just asked for a filter so i can make my radio connect to a amp without the extra amp output, every good audioshop will have them

Thanks for the info mate!! I think I`ll go for that instead of fitting my clarion again. I don`t have the intension to compete in Db drags so this should do I reckon!
