Does the ST actually have a trip computer which calculates mpg? Or are people just guessing from the amount of miles they get out of a "tank"?

No trip comuter, I work mine out from filling it right to the top, then well I refill it see how many litres it takes to fill right to the top again!

I'm still on my first tank at the moment, done just over 250 miles and its down to a quarter of a tank which isn't bad going. All the miles so far have been at a constant 70-80mph on the motorway though, I think it'll decrease once I get into my normal stop-start traffic routine.

Getting about 30-32 MPG ,I know that in theory it,s possible to get a lot more ,But I can,t keep the revs down in this car, no way Jose.Starting to run full time with the AC on now will let you know how things change.

I did have a 1.25 freestyle - I did 67000 miles in 3yrs. I was all set to buy the TDCi S. Until I tested the ST. Its a real fun car to drive BUT I regreting the decision slightly. The car is Great the fuel consumption is a killer. I doing bout 18mpg. That combined driving (motorway/urban).

I got the car just under two weeks ago and I've done 1100 miles in it. Ive filled her up about 4 times I think.

Its a year of ST fun then to the diesel!!

I think a 6 speed box would be a useful change to the car (please listen ford).

Besides driving at 25mph - is there anything that I can do to the car to improve fuel consumption?

Hi LittleLegs..

Your site appears to be down?

Is there any other way I could maybe get hold of this spreadsheet you have made?

Cheers

Has anyone noticed whether different grades of fuel give them better economy?

I've been using Sainsburys/supermarket own 95 RON and have struggled to get much more than 250-260 miles out of any tank (I'm now on my 4th in a little under 1000 miles), which I don't think is particularly great. I do have a nightmare 10 mile stop/start commute twice a day, but I thought I could still return upwards of 30mpg.

Has anyone noticed whether Shell Optimax or BP Ultimate gives them better results? I know its a few pence extra per litre, but if it'll give me a better range out of the tank then its evens.

I have done about 4400 miles now since 3rd March. I do a mix of town driving, A-Roads and motorway. Overally now I am averaging about 32mpg and I don't drive it like an old granny!!

Even when I did my Prodrive day, I did a total of 230 miles during the day including driving there and back and giving it some grief round the track and still achieved 30mpg.

If you are only getting 18mpg I think you may have a hole in the tank!!!
