Hi Guys,

The other day my dip-sh*t mate opened the passenger side door and didnt realise that there was a wall there Anyway it has taken the paintwork off right on the edge of the door in places.

So, I thought I would try and sort it out - went to the dealership and the bodyshop manager said he didn't have any frozen white paint at the mo - he suggested I buy a Ford touch-up stick, which I did as I thought I would need one anyway. And it only cost me a couple of quid. So I applied the touch up paint to the area affected. IT DRIED AND IT LOOKS PRETTY POO - The colour does not match the rest of it at all, take a look, apologies for the pic....

Tomorrow (28/02/07) I have the ChipsAway guy comin to sort out another minor scratch on my ST, I forgot to mention this to him but do you think he will be able to sand it down and work his magic on this also?

PS - Have any of you lot used the Ford Frozen White touch-up stick? Its like a off white colour

Many Thanks

Will

I'd get my friend to sort it out or he wouldn't be my friend for much longer

I had chips away come and look at my scratch and they quoted £110 cash in hand (naughty naughty but benefits all but the taxman.... harah!) for a localised spray job.

Its a fair price becasue like you say.... touch up pens, t-cut and an idiot (well in my case anyway) not knowing what they're doing just makes things look worse

Well the ChipsAway guy has been and gone and I must say he has done a top job.

Before & After pics below, he also sorted out the door and the touch-up pen palava, he quickly went over it with they spraygun and generally tidied it up.

Total Price for rear trim repair and touch up of door: £117.00

Not bad at all.....

BEFORE...

AFTER...

Well done ChipsAway!

Looks like he's done you proud there.

Did you get his name? You could advise him to other people in your area as it looks good!!!

Yes I did, his name was Terry Partington and is based in Fareham but will come out to surrounding areas including Pompey.

Very, Very pleasd with the quality and the customer service skills of this bloke! Like I said he even touched-up a scratch I had missed for no extra charge. Mobile Number can be supplied if required - just PM me.

They have done an excellent job there. That scratch looked quite bad and its all gone now, can't argue at all with that.
