I know it's looking very unlikely now, but do you think there is still a chance that the RS will appear?
Or maybe Ford might release a faster/upgraded ST?

Cunningly timed just before the ST became available it was "leaked" that ford wont be making the Fiesta RS. Make of that what you will.

I think the news was just coincidence, it was never announced, just displayed as a concept. It will definitely not appear with the Fiesta in it's current form, but who knows what the future holds in a couple of years time when the refresh is released. I for one would consider it still to be massively unlikely but you can never say never...

TeamRS are working with dealers to bring the 'RS accredited dealer' back, they are also looking into the supplying of RS stylie upgrades. For what models though and what upgrades remains to be seen. As does whether it ever happens. Lots of talk, not (so far) so good at the walk...

Indeed, i for one have been waiting for the Fez and now its 99% not going to appear in any shape in the next 3 years atleast.

I really do think Ford missed their chance with this. The ST doesn't have the welly or visual clout to take on the Cooper S and the Clio 182. The RS had them in spades. OK so they'd have lost a few quid on each one but with a limited run of 4000 and the RS badge they'd have been fighting buyers off with sticks. And it would have been THE hot hatch to get.

You say it yourself though, they'd of lost money. Project over.

Focus ST is a possibility but I'm holding off until I've seen the press reviews. No offense, but if it gets the kind of reviews the Fiesta ST got then I won't be getting one.

Sure, it's true that you need to try these cars yourself but you are never really stretching a car in a test drive where as the magazines tend to find things that you wouldn't appreciate until a few months of ownership.

True, but all the original reviews of the ST have proven to be bollocks. The more recent reviews have been far more complimentary and having been out in one I certainly wouldn't have any qualms about owning one at all. I think it sits perfectly in it's market segment (balancing between performance and insurability) and allows plenty of room for upgrades.

The Fiesta RS Concept will never be made... but I do think there will be a Fiesta RS
