I heard you can now get keyless on Fiesta St's just like the Focus ST.

Anyone know how this works?

Is it just a fob that you carry with you and when you get close to the car it unlocks and when your far away it locks??

never heard of it as an option on the fiesta.
Basically when you walk up to the car it has a sensor on the handle and unlocks car when you are near it.
To start it you twist the barel whilst havin foot on clutch or brake and it starts.
When you walk away it locks its self

I would keep going back to see if it was locked.....which it would not be

Yup lol. Even after I've pressed the button I always check the handle to make sure that it is actually locked, and in this case it never would be!

on my cousins titanium focus it was simply a fob which when you approached the car from a distance it unlocked. Once iside the car you inserted the fob into the holder which is where the key usually fits, and then you turned the lever to start the engine. I do agree though, as a worrier I would be scared to walk away away from the car trusting the ford security system to lock it automatically.

Had it on a Renault Megane, keyless entry/ignition. Once used to it, it was excellent.

Shame the dealer didn't understand the concept as he said the car would lock itself..... Wrong, fortunately I was on nights and car was in works car park, one of the lads had a look over it and found the door open!!

Anyway, the car sensed the remote card in your pocket but would only unlock the door when the handle was pulled. Once in the car the dash would request either the brake or the clutch be pressed along with the start button if it detected the remote card. If the card was undetected, it would display "card not detected".

You could also push the card into the card slot below the stereo, think this was just in case the batteries were flat in the remote card.

To lock it simply press the lock button on the remote card once door's shut, if you left any windows of the roof open a longer press would do full closure too!!

A very good gimmick, but just adds to the list of things (electronic) that can go wrong. Being French it did...... but that's another story!!!

Rob.
