I agree...................if it was a DB9

LOL... Fair comment... but I think you're being a bit harsh Dave... After all if it were a DB9 there would be no point in documenting the process as it would be almost "normal". The fact that makes it extraordinary and worth reading is is the fact that he goes to this extent on this particular "ordinary" car.

Have to agree with all of u thats a lot of cleaning and money spend for a car! even if the result is great! probably took his car out the next day and the car got dirty again!!so much for so little!!

It is going to an extreme there, but he has done a great job. I wouldn't personally go to that extent but I know it is possible to spend loads of time cleaning your car and making it look nice and still to enjoy driving it around.

I think I could conceive this sort of treatment if you bought a car with a collector's perspective, knowing you will have the luxury of only being able to take it out when the weather is nice and mostly do a very limited amount of mileage on it every year. Maybe this is the perspective this chap had when he bought it. Who knows... in 20 years time it might be like some of the XR 2's we now occasionally see on ebay or at shows with a mere 5 or 6000 k miles on the clock. It's difficult though to see things this way when they are new cars.

Thats a little too much!!! It's brand new anyway? Just wash the bloody thing. Did someone tell him he will torquesteer into a tree just outside the garage so he is wasting his time.

If it was a classic car, a Escort Cossie or really classic one thats stored away then fair enough... whats the point in doing that to an ASTRA?

the results look amazing cant believe the difference from factory paint finish to the final result. But is it really worth it with our road conditions? i clean mine and next day looks worse

*sigh* .... I'm in heaven reading that thread!!!

You lot go on about him dying if a bird poops on his car or if it rains etc etc but I'm sorry I'd rather have a raggy old cloth and some Quik Detailer handy to wipe any poop off because I can show you the damage its done to the paintwork on the roof of my car! Its really damaged it!

What you lot also dont understand is this kind of work wont be done all the time either. The car just needs "topping up" as it were so not a lot of work from now on. You clean, prep & base coat your walls to get a good finish soooooo its sorta the same thing!

I have to say though the finish on the new seats is a bit arse. If you look at the seat, to the left of the VXR its a bit rumpled. Nich so gut.

I guess I'd better not document the prep that's going to go into my car for FITP right? Ok, nowhere near that sort of level but still... Bufty's unite! LOL

HATE VAUXHALLS

ITS ALL ABOUT THE S

Some could say that but i think he obviously loves the car to have that done to it. Secondly, he also must have a fair few quid to be able to afford to do that to "just an astra".

Personally, i wouldnt get it donto to my ST - firstly i couldnt afford it and secondly, its just a Fiesta!
