Hi everyone,

Okay, back to square one again. Decided I am going to change motors after all the messing around last time. I'd really love the ST but I have a few questions. I am eligible for the Privilege Voucher and I will just be changing over from my current Ford Options scheme (standard Zetec). With this in mind can I haggle a bit off the list price? Would getting £1k off be unreasonable? I'm not looking any extras at all as the standard kit is more than enough for me.

i got 2.5k off (standard ST) and i don't have priv voucher. I guess it all depends on your dealer - also I picked the right time as it was dealer stock and got registered 1st of March.

Play them off against each other if you have a couple of dealerships near by...

i have no ideal about privelege discount but i haggled £100 quid off stripes. lolol i'm not very good at this haggling lark

btw, my mates in the motortrade say its kinda slow at the moment, so don't let them bully you into a decision then and there, make them sweat

its not sa bad if you can play them off against each other if you go round a few dealerships and haggle a bit that way but really speaking i would pay any more than around £11000 for a standard st in a solid colour with 12mth tax and a on the road price at that. .benfield r throwing them out at the moment for around £11000.

i paid 13995 for mine! hahaha but i couldn't really care less tbh. if you want to play the dealers off against each other you will have to obtain some evidence of their offer first, so get them to put it in writing.

aslong as u get what u want tbh it doesn't really matter, i to be honest paid over the odds but its wot i wanted and got a half decent trade in price

i got an excellent trade in price. most dealers would give me 2000-2750 and i got 3500 for my old car in the end so i was happy

but in real terms all they did was took money off the new st and added it to your trade in so it looks like you got a good trade in offer.

i waited 3 month for it. i tried and tried but they wouldn't budge so i sent my dad in and he managed the 100 off stripes, in actual fact i didn't pay anything so ha to them. but at the end of the day they gave me an exceptional price on my old car and tbh i couldn't give a monkey uncle if i paid the most or whether they saw me coming or what. at the end of the day it was over a year ago so i ain't bothered. although i do know i p[robabily wont be going back for my next car as they are worse than useless sometimes
