Hi All, what a wicked site to talk about an awesome car!!

I reckon I'm one of the oldest guys on this forum and feel like the last to get a hot hatch!! Anyway the ST certainly makes me feel like I'm only 19 again and puts a smile on my face everytime I get in for a drive.

Looking forward to even more interesting discussions!!

Thanks FiestaRS!!

I do love my ST, first performance car I've owned. My partner doesn't like my style of driving and when I told her I was buying the ST she almost flipped!!

Told me she would never get in the car with me!!

Interestingly she drove it on Sat and you should've seen the on her face!!

She was well impressed.

*hehehe* My parents did their nut when I told them I was selling my old Fiesta (one they helped me buy) and getting the ST. My mum worried it was too powerful for me and my dad was just grumpy My mum is suitably impressed with it after being driven around in it tho Dad is being picked up from Heathrow in it when he gets back from New Zealand (doesnt know I've got it *hehehe*)

Likewise Gadgeteer. Had a Golf GTi turbo for about six months which was fun but was a company car but when it came to buying one for myself got a focus collection (overall better car) but this is my first bona fide 'hot hatch'.

Not test driven the ST but love the looks and am looking forward to becoming a 'hot hatch owner'

I've done 1600 miles in mine and I still get excited everytime I go out in it.

Its also nice that it attracts some attention (I think its the stripes).

I've been doing more motorway driving recently and I've noticed that people get out the way more when in the fast lane. Again, I think its the stripes.

Buy 1 you won't be disappointed!!

Scotty, why dont u get it insured in ur mum / dad's name then just be a named driver.. just till u'r old enough for the quote to come down...

a mate of mine was 24 before he got his own insurance (ooops ) lol (he was insured of course)

I am already insured on my Dads insurance, so dont have any No Claims Bonus.

The quote i got was for being a NAMED driver on my dads insurance, if i was trying to insure it myself... PMSL at the quote... would be £3000 atleast.

Im going to insure my focus in Feb on my own to try and build up some NCB ready for a faster car when i have the money.

Thx for the thought Chris m8

jeeeeeessssuusss! that is a heck of a lot. dont understand that! yeh it is a good idea to build up your ncb.. insurance tax goes up about as much (p/a) as the annual discount reduces your premium.. so for the 1st year you wont realylt see much difference. if you can find an insurer who does it, some places do a special 10 month policy, but on completion of 10 months they award you a full one year ncb. my gf did it with those buggers at diamond (but unless u chop ur... off u cant get insured with them). lol

The only disadvantage of some of those 10 month accelerators is that other companies might not recognise the NCBs you've built up! Thus having you by the whatnots & forcing you to stay with them. Men can get insured with Diamond as by law they cannot offer insurance to women only I think if you are the parnter/husband of a Diamond customer then you can get insured (or something like that *heh*)
