Hi everyone.

Thought I would introduce myself, so hello!!

I'm putting in my order tomorrow hopefully, got a 6-8 week wait though - I guess it'll be worth it tho.

I'm going for the performance blue, tints and reflex pack.

Used to own a mk5 Zetec-S, excellent car but I sold it and regretted it so had to have a go in the mk6 ST, and what a brilliant car it is indeed.

Just a question . . . the standard stereo is obviously designed not to be removed and replaced with your normal size replacement . . . so how would one get around fitting a sub/amp . . I'm not definately thinking about doing this but I do still have my old kit sitting about from my previous car and would fancy maybe slamming it in at some point.

Anyhow, hello and look forward to getting to know you all.

Richard

Hello and welcome to the forum Richard.

Im glad you have decided to buy a Fiesta they are great cars as everyone will tell you. You have come to the right place to ask questions m8.

To get around the Ford Standard Unit problem. An aftermarket dash fitment would need to be purchased, im sure some of the Mk6 owners would enlighten you on this. With this fitment the old sterio could be taken out and the new dash fitment added so that the space is right for a standard rectangle head unit to be slotted in.

Ill try and find a picture of this to illistrate what i mean.

Im always down your way as im always down in Portsmouth due to having a house there.

You may recognise these pictures then

Welcome RichK!

I'm not very good at technical stuff like that but I think that the sound system has a surprisingly good amount of bass by itself and doesn't distort too badly at high volume so it might not be totally necessary for most people.

Bet you can't wait, i know how bad I was waiting for mine!

Chris

Cheers for the replies guys n girls. I used to be a member on zetecs.com and zsoc.com when I had my mk5, anyone else go there?

Anyway - if someone could find out about the headunit/dash thing it would be really good of you.

Cheers

Rich

how can i explain this, you can buy a "filter" that you place between your speaker cables of the speakers from te back. these will filter out a signal for your amp but your speakers will still work.

caliber has such "filters" i dont know if you can buy caliber in the uk but they have really good stuff for your amp etc.

my amp gets his feed the same way as i explained above and it works like a charm (mk6)

gonna do it the same way in my ST

btw, welcome
