I very occasionally have a problem when trying to start it after it's been sat for about 15 mins after stopping it. Say after going shopping at the supermarket. It just refuses to start properly until the about the third turn of the key. Not sure if it's heat soak boiling the fuel or the ECU gets bamboozled by that particular set of temperatures and pressures.

generally it starts fine provided I make sure I wait till the immobiliser light goes out before starting.

I spoke to one of the Ford mechanics, he said that this was a fairly common problem, in fact a mate with a fairly new 1.6 focus said she has the same problem from time to time.
Apparently it is due to slight flooding of the engine, so if you depress the accelorator for a few seconds and restart, it should be fine. Seems to have worked so far....
