well my understanding would be that the Fiesta ST is a popular car and if Ford stopped making them there would be more demand for second hand cars.
As we have found from people on this site, when it comes to selling a year old one, it is hard to command a good price, this is because they are readily available at heavily discounted prices brand new.
Take away this availability and they become harder to pick up. The Fiesta ST may not be as iconic as some other hot hatches from many years ago, but look at the prices on an Escort Cosworth, Nissan Pulsar's etc, these still cost a lot of cash for a relatively old car - reason? They're sought after and available in diminsihing numbers..
