I'm thinking of colour coding a few bits of my & possibly having the grey plastic painted black (personally I think it should have come with black plastic & not that grey stuff). My question is this:

Will spraying (or having it done in my case) work? I dont want to get something done for it to look crappy/peeled/faded/whatever and it need doing again & again.

Thanks for any help you guys can offer!

If you get it done professionally and the use the correct primer, the it will last just the same as the spoilers and door handles. If you want washer jets and the cap to delock the drivers door the are available from Torquesteer in any colour and seem to be well painted, already purchased these in Diamond White for mine when it bloody arrives!!!!!! But it's now been built!!!!

Oh yay!!!!! At last!!!

I've seen someone's with the mesh sprayed black and all the other grey plastic bits sprayed the Performance Blue of her car... I wouldnt do all that, just perhaps get ALL the grey plastic spray painted black. I'm not fussed at all about fiddly little bits like washer jets and de locking etc. I want to keep my car as original as possible for as long as possible whilst tweaking little bits here & there.

Been to see my body work guy today and he says I will be better off if I just get the parts in black plastic from rather than having them sprayed to look like black plastic. He showed me another car he was working on which had the bumpers sprayed black and had cracked horribly. This is what I want to avoid; a mod that needs doing again & again.

What are your thoughts people? Opinions are appreciated!

I quite honestly think there's nothing wrong with the grey that Ford chose for those details. It contrasts sufficiently against most colours (a lot against diamond white). I'd save money and keep it original if I were you. Think how it will look in 5 or 6 years time. What are your opinions on modified color codings on cars you see around today which have been modded a few years ago when they were new. I personally think that mods you do today look fine for now that the car is new, but they will age the appeareance of a car sooner than if they'd not been applied. Just my opinion...

Yeh true. I do want to keep it as original as possible (that's how I aim to be different! *lol*). I'm perfectly happy with the engine plus any mods there will have to be declared to my insurance (thus pushing it up), possible road tax rise and also possibly void any warranty I have for the next 3 years

Maybe its a female thing cos I would have prefered the grill in black. The grey, to me looks like its got old before its time
