You say the K&N possibly but you think it looks cheap... how often are you going to be admiring it? If you are more in to underbonnet detailing & want some sound then you probably want something with a bit more metal/shiny bits (Powertec ??)
If you want sound & performance, then a green or K&N I would say. I had a PiperX foam cone on my MG which ounded lurvely, but that was a V6.
If you want outright performance, then generally you are looking at an enclosed induction kit but you will lose sound with that. I've got an enclosed Piper Viper kit on the Elise and notice zero difference in sound. Still looks nice with the Carbon Fibre cover.
By the way, my K&N was £69 plus delivery (£6 or something). Very happy with the sound and seems to be a bit sharper on the throttle. Flexi arrives on Monday !!

Anyone fitted the ramair/raidHP/Wolf filter?
It looks to fit directly onto the throttle body so looks tidy and no issues with rubbing. Also a lot cheaper but does have a seperate breather filter using the orrginal pipework which looks a little naff but does the job.
Where can you buy green filters and has anybody tried to fit directly to the throttle body without the bend pipe? (I know you will need a seperate breather)

How much more noiser is a K&N cone filter over the standard air box on the ST? The reason i ask is i had a cone filter on my 1.8 zetec focus & the noise from it was hurrendous along a motorway at 70mph. Like a loud droning noise I would like to fit an aftermarket airfilter but nothing to noisey Cheers, Paul

It's quite noisy/droney at around 4k/rpm, especially if you have the windows down... but it's a nice noise overall. After 4K the noise continues but I don't find it as droney... it's just a small rpm range where it just goes through a stage that resonates a bit more.

Where did you get your from? I've just been quoted £100.13 from a local dealer been looking on ebay and found some a bit cheaper.
So is K&N better than the Green one (which I've never heard of)? Or the other way round?

OK... you have your PM now Leah... use it wisely IMO I'd guess there is very little difference between K&N & Green. Some performance figures suggest the K&N is better... some suggest they are similar. All I know is that the K&N fits well, doesn't rub and sounds nice... think it has made a difference in performance also.
