First time post been reading the site for about a month.

Regarding the ESP option, I have a price list dated from 9/03/05 - 31/03/05 and it is featured, what I have now noticed from just going to the Ford website is they have now put up the cost of metallic paint from £325 to £350.

£350 isn't bad, although I stil reckon it should be standard. There's hardly any other cars out there nowadays (with this sort of power) that don't have some form of traction/stability control fitted.

I'm at a bit of a loss as to why Ford didn't offer it from the outset either, I'm a bit gutted than I'm not going to have it on mine as I've heard that wheelspin can be a bit much in the wet... Anyone know if the ESP can be retro-fitted at all?

What do you want ESP for? takes all the fun out of it!! Bit too safe and boring for me?? Nice to have the option to switch it on / off though i suppose and £350 is a real bargain for ESP.

I know what you mean Greasemonkey but I think its reassuring to have nonetheless, particularly when the road is unfamiliar or you're not necessarily wanting to "press" on. I guess its a fairly primitive system anyway, so I reckon it could probably be retro-fitted without too much difficulty. I'll check with my local dealer once I've got the car.

Its gonna need things like steering angle sensors, yaw sensors etc, etc. Which might be expensive to retrofit, dont think you will find anyone willing to take that kind of job on Parksey. Its not probably so much the cost but more likely to be the unknown part of it will put dealers off, what are they going to be getting into, will it work, who is going to pay type scenarios???

ESP no thanks I don,t think it,ll go any better with ESP.Also it will take all the fun out of it.No slipping and sliding with ESP and when you do turn it off you have to rediscover the limits all over again.·50 quid that,ll get a new exhaust (or at least a bit of)and another 4 to 5 bhp yes please.
