Just thought I'd list out all the 'things' that I have experienced with my , in the five weeks since I have owned it:

Within 20 minutes of picking the up from dealer: Noticed that the '12v accessory blanking plug' was missing - picked up car late in evening so phoned dealer the next day, and promptly recieved one in the post. Sorted.

Fiesta owner's guide/manual: The issue I got does not cover car data/tyre pressures etc. I believe that some people have got the correct manual, if you do, could you please post the code for it so I can hassle my dealer for a new one! (Should be inside front cover - my manual has got CG3418en RHD 11/2003).

TIP - For those of you without tyre pressures, they are on the inside of the passenger door pillar.

TIP - READ YOUR MANUAL - i was too excited and just kept driving the . Then it rained........ put the intermittent wipe on (used to be variable on my Focus), and it wiped about every 12-14 seconds, rubbish I thought - then read the manual you can program the intermittent timing from 1-25 secs by putting the intermittent on, then turn off, then turn back on after the desired time, to set the speed!! .

First week: checked oil after reading 'no friggin oil' post - eeeeeeeeeeeek - barely a mark on the dipstick, topped up by about 1/3 litre - now ok!

Steering wheel not straight when driving in straight line/level camber: Had the wheel alignment checked, needed re-alignment at 200 miles (no knocks to the wheels or anything). My Focus had a similar problem in the fact that it wore out the insides on the front tyres by 9000 miles - tyre company said probably due to not being set up correctly, also hadn't whacked any kerbs etc. Will always get the alignment checked on a new car from now on (seems very strange to me that it is not correctly aligned straight out of the factory?).

Splutter: I too have had splutter/no go at 30 mph in fourth. It lasted for about 5 to 10 secs then went away. Just put it down to being started when hot, and it has not reappeared, but will keep an eye on it!

Alloy Wheel nut cover plate: One of them was damaged/miss shaped, got a new one under warranty.

Boot switch: Very annoying that you can't open boot with engine running - worked fine in my Focus!

Driving position a bit too high for me.

But apart from all that..........

It still rocks and I'll be mostly takin' the 'B' roads to work then

Matt

well well well mat this for reading my post " no frigin oil"
i also went back to dagenham motors cos my car waas always going off the the left, but they said nothing was wrong with it, the boot relase is very very annoying indeed

mind u tho didnt know abou the intermittent wipe!!! i shall check that out

the only other thing i have got with it at the more is i dont think its got full power ( i cant surely be used to it by now) the reason why i say this is i was up agasint a 1.6SRI nova or something like that a few weeks about but i didnt muller it as much as i thought i would,( it juts might be me) and when it starts up it doesnt start with full revs( sounds all day and like it doesnt want to start up) and 1 last thing noisey over bumps when u turn right

but apart from that nothing from it!!!!!!!!!!

I am having problems with my tyres at the moment. I decided to check them on Saturday and they were all down around 26-28 so topped them up to 31 at the front and 29 at the rear. I was talking to my local tyre company today (Monday) about the cost of replacing my Pirelli's (I nearly damned fainted when he told me) when he checked the pressures for me:

Front offside - 28
Rear offside - 27
Rear nearside - 22 (!!!)
Front nearside - 26

Within the space of a few days??? Sure on Sunday I was loaded up but not massively and I drove (verrrrrrry slowly) rough ground as I went in & out the boot sale. They said to keep an eye on my tyres and come in again in a few days/weeks time and check them again. If they have gone down again t go back to my dealeship.

Is there an ST which HASN'T been back to a dealership???

I agree.. i was one of the very 1st people to have an ST (11th February)and 3000 miles later i still dont believe the ST is pushing out nearly 150 bhp!! 2nd gear is appalling and feels slower than my old zetec S! however in its defence 3rd and 4th are awsome! really think must be the low down gearing that makes the car seem slower than it is. Ive had 130 mph speedo reading out of it a few times and that was quality!
.. only problem ive had so far though is a 5 attempt non start the other day... but treated as if a flooded engine (even though i know i hadnt flooded it) ..it juddered like hell ..so slowly depressed accelerater and it went eventualy probably to much nailing it around!

btw. despite me slagging off 2nd gear.....on the motorways its awsome and leaves most cars as specs in the rear view mirrow.

i have to kinda agree with u, 4th is awsome i got almost the limit out of 4th and i still have 5th to go lol, i got full wack out of it a few time, this car does really love motorway driving, but for a car that can do 0-60mph in 7.9secs it dont seem like it, liek i said when i was racing with that nova, i beat him but didnt muller him, i was thinking wtf!!!!!!

would be interesting i reckon if anyone did or has done some independednt tests to see if the ST came anywhere close to the Ford figures of 7.9 sec 0-60!!! cos i reckon it feels much slower probably around 8.5 + secs and i would consider my car to be quite well run in by now..... Cos i know people including myself discovering their old Zetec S's being a tad quicker than ford offial 10.2 secs 0 -60 and more BHP than their published 103bhp figures....would be a real shame if the ST was the opposite and was producing poorer perfomance than stated. that saying.. I still f**king love it anf whips that ass of most boy racers out there!!!!

LOL bet that was fun day out ...hope u didnt abuse ur ST too much !!!

Would be intersted to know what Ford say...and whether any ECU upgrade is available if there is a problem.

Dont know but has anyone else noticed a bit of a delay between planting their foot down on the accelerator and actual accleration....is this a delay due to the electronic fly-by-wire throttle? cos it doesnt seem as reactive as when i was previously driving my old Zetec S! could this also be a possible ECU problem?????? anyone else noticed this?

depends on what revs i am doing in that gear, when i'm on my next day off i think i might book it in, no harm is there, just claim it under warranty!!!!

cheers pink rinse i shall take it to a ford garage and get it sorted. Did u notice any other changes after the ECU update in terms of drivability or do you reckon the update relates only to the stalling / non starting issue?

I didnt notice too much of a difference in anything else tbh... They tried to explain it to me in that they dont have any notifications of problems and the particular software upgrade to fix it but they just get updates and the first thing to do is shove the thing in and update it all.
